I recently had a private training session with Joe Tandle from NYIM.  The overall experience was great.  I feel the instructor was well educated on the tools I needed in order to succeed in my current role.  The pace of the class was wonderful.  It allowed me to ask thoughtful questions on ambiguous material and in return the answers were clear and concise.  The instructor was well-prepared.  He also supplied me with supporting documentation to use at all times.  He even went so far as to provide me the opportunity to call him at anytime in the future if I ever ran into a problem.  Overall, I would rate the preparation, use of time, knowledge of material and general kindness as one of the best training classes/sessions that I have ever attended.  I have and will continue to recommend Joe Tandle and the folks at NYIM to others.

It was like a very condensed tin of soup - strong and thick in content, its full benefit is only revealed when you take time afterwards to dilute what you heard by practice, practice, practice. Like all food it has a ëuse-byí date, but I have never felt so inclined to put time aside as after this course. As a fashion professional fluent in Photoshop and somewhat comfortable with Illustrator, I highly profited from Phoenix's teachings; but also those students who started class from a beginner's level also found the teacher's step by step easy and patient method very useful. Each student was using a state of the art laptop with fast internet connection that allowed him/her to browse the web for immediate examples on the most different topics. The teacher's laptop was connected with a projector that showed  all the actions and keys necessary for a specific project.

After studying with Phoenix, expect to be very comfortable creating your own textiles, from stunning realistic plaids and denims, to more complicated patterned graphic prints; flat fashion sketches that you will be able to fill with any color, texture or textile design of your choice; your own logos, accessories, belts, handbags.

As an industry professional with work experience within the most famous companies both domestically and internationally, I am sure that Phoenix 's teachings will give the student the complete preparation in order to comfortably satisfy the computer skills required for most fashion industry jobs.

I just wanted to write and say hi and THANK YOU. So Nai and I have been in touch and I interviewed a couple of rounds at Macys and I am now freelancing for a month there. If it works out I think they are going to hire me full time! We shall see but it's really exciting. I thought it would be good advertising for you to be able to say that by taking your classes I not only learned enough to hold my own on illustrator... but I got a job as well!

The classes really helped me and I learned a lot. Both Phoenix & Mikelle were great but I think Mikelle's class was definitely more structured and she was a little more knowledgeable about what skills are necessary on the job. I learned a lot of helpful tips.

Joy...I'll say what I am sure she has heard too many times before, she was a joy!

Below in blue is an unsolicited endorsement I had sent to her during the week between my first and second class. 
I meant it all. Joy was knowledgeable and thorough.  She recognized the degree of ability I had and fell right in step to fill in the many blanks I had.  She clarified all my questions and I report with great satisfaction that I have as a result of the class, designed what will become my first website done on my own.  The content is still being assembled, but all the pages are set up, I used CSS style sheets, linked all pages, images all installed and the root folder and all its subfolders arranged. (hopefully accurately).

We covered all points in the course outline.  There was a lot to recall, but with the book and my notes I have found my way. If I have question or two as I go I may e-mail them but I am feeling very good about the whole experience.  To answer more pointedly I will say she was knowledgeable, prepared, easy to work with, and covered all the ground I could have hoped for. She seemed to understand what was important to teach for me to use practically without drowning me with nonessential or heavily technical details.

I think Mikelle was great.   A class of students with relatively the same experience on  Illustrator though, would use Mikelle's talents best; more advanced people won't feel hindered and those with less experience won't feel the class  moves too "fast".
