OUTLOOK
Outlook 2007 looks and acts almost the same as 2003 but the following features have been added:
- Instant Search
- Color Categories
- Results-oriented user interface
- Attachment previewing
- Minimized Navigation Pane,
- Improved scheduling capabilities
- Task integration on the Calendar, To-Do Bar
- Easier calendar sharing,
- RSS support
- Integration of Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
- New e-mailing and filtering tools: E-mail Postmark, Junk E-mail Filter/phishing protection, E-mail records repository, Free/busy information management, Office Diagnostics, Proofing Tools, Program Recovery
WORD
Word 2003 users switching to Word 2007, will find themselves looking in the ribbon menu bar for the same well-known menu items. Microsoft has included some improvements which are noted below:
- XML-based file format- enables Office Word 2007 files to be smaller, more robust, and deeply integrated with information systems and external data sources
- Improved tools for recovering your work.
- Improved Editing and Reviewing tools.
- Improvements in document sharing and revisions
ACCESS
- The familiar menu toolbar has been replaced by the ribbon toolbar: Rather than requiring the user to browse through several menu trees, the blue ribbon interface (which can be changed to either black or silver) arranges all of its options under a few basic tabs; clicking a tab brings up a selection of related tools.
- New views and design tools which help you create new database objects and work with data include: Professional database Templates, field and table templates, improved datasheet view, new layout views
- More powerful object creation tools - intuitive environment for creating forms and reports. New report and layout view, improved grouping and sorting in reports and adding totals, new control layouts, new split forms, embedded macros
- New and enhanced data types and controls that allow you to store more types of data, and enter them more easily.
- Improved design and analysis tools - create database objects more quickly and analyze your data more easily. Enhanced: Field List panes, sorting and filtering tools
- Enhanced security - security features and strong integration with Windows SharePoint Services. By storing your tracking application data in lists on Windows SharePoint Services, you can audit revision history, recover deleted information, and set data access permissions.
- New ways to share data and collaborate with others
- Better ways to troubleshoot problems
- Improved proofing tools
