Prerequisites
- Must feel comfortable with basic computer skills. It is crucial that you understand
how to save and retrieve files without trouble.
- No Illustrator or Photoshop experience is needed.

Note:
- We train using Adobe CS4, as it is currently the most popular version in NYC businesses. If you are on Photoshop CS2 or CS3 this class is will still meet your needs with minimal changes.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
We will cover both programs and the tools in them specific to fashion design. Topics covered will include: creation of flats; creating fabrics and seamless patterns fabric, trim and stitch libraries; and color stories.
GOAL: Each Student will create a mini-collection of 7 styles.

ASSIGNMENT 5: FINISHING YOUR PRESENTATION BOARD
STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
- Each student is expected to spend at least 3 hours for each class on the homework assignments.
- Only students that complete all assignments and demonstrate an understanding of the technical skills taught in class will get a certificate of completion. (i.e. assignments will be checked to make sure flats are drawn as demonstrated in class)
- Homework must be emailed to the instructor before class begins. Make sure the file names contain no spaces and the proper file extensions (".ai" for Illustrator and ".psd" for Photoshop) are used. Due dates are listed on the assignment sheet.
